During allergy meetings, the spread of knowledge and information is accelerated by social media activities, enhancing the scientific event experience by active and responsible involvement of allergy activists by including the specific hashtag in their posts.

Two interdisciplinary scientific meetings of the Romanian Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (RSACI) must be mentioned in 2019: the 2nd National Interdisciplinary Conference on Allergology & Pneumology, a joint event organized together with the Romanian Society of Pneumology, and the 4th National Congress of Allergology and Clinical Immunology.

The 2nd National Interdisciplinary Conference on Allergology & Pneumology was held on February 9, 2019, at Crowne Plaza, Bucharest, Romania. The hashtag of the event was #SRAICSRPjoint19, and it was used all over social media platforms – Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Sharing information about the event in advance, about its venue and programme, was performed on Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. Posts with images, respecting EAACI rules and etiquette on how to use social media at allergy scientific meetings, increased the conference online visibility. Allergy academia representatives, young specialists and residents in training in Allergology and Clinical Immunology kept meeting discussions flowing on Twitter, engaging other social media activists in online interactions to enforce participation.

Now, we are looking forward to the upcoming RSACI Annual Congress, the 4th National Congress of Allergology and Clinical Immunology #SRAlC2019, which will be held between 16 and 18 May 2019 in the beautiful town and mountain resort of Sinaia, located in the Prahova County in Romania. Sinaia was named after the monastery around which it was built, the Sinaia Monastery being founded by Prince Mihail Cantacuzino in 1695 and named after the Biblical Mount Sinai. King Carol I of Romania built his summer home, Peleş Castle, near the town in the late nineteenth century.

Do not forget to use the #SRAlC2019 hashtag for all event-related posted content on social media! This national congress will challenge us all with quality presentations and learning opportunities, with great opportunities to interact, network and enjoy in a friendly scientific #AllergistsGetTogether environment. The multidisciplinarity of #SRAlC2019 will bring together allergists and clinical immunologists, pulmonologists, otorhinolaryngologists, dermatologists, pediatricians, and primary care physicians. International speakers are top leading specialists from Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, and USA. Two great US experts are active on Twitter: David Fleischer @DavidMarkFleis1 and Carina Venter @VenterCarina with great Social Media #FoodAllergy activity promoting high-quality science-based information! The members of our society are very excited that these speakers will participate at our RSACI scientific event, because they know them from international meetings and through their publications, and are waiting to hear them live in Romania.
