The first edition of 2019 is dedicated to the 6th Ginecologia.ro Forum and the 2nd Perinatologia Forum, which will take place between the 8th and 9th of March 2019 in Bucharest. This year, Ginecologia.ro Forum has as a topic of discussion “Challenges in Obstetrics and Gynecology”, and once again, it reminds us about the need to constantly and meticulously update the knowledge, as well as to collaborate closely with doctors from other medical and surgical specialties. An element of novelty is the interactive session “Stamp the clinic”, within which the representatives of each clinic will “dwell” based on presentations of clinical cases, this confrontation facilitating the presentation of different approaches with divergent diagnostic and treatment options, in order to disseminate and acquire new knowledge. The second edition of Perinatologia Forum comes to highlight the importance of the holistic perinatal approach of the mother and newborn. Both events are dedicated not only to obstetrics-gynecology and neonatology specialists, all the doctors being invited to discuss cutting-edge novelties from the perspective of interdisciplinarity in the context of modern medicine in a continuous development process. The abstracts of the papers presented in the two forums can be found in this issue of the journal.

Also, on March 29-30, the Romanian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (SOGR) Consensus Meeting, for the revision of the clinical obstetrics and gynecology guides, will be held in Bucharest, a necessary final step for their promotion by the Ministry of Health. We invite you to consult, starting from the 18th of March, the final version of these revised guides at www.sogr.ro.

Among the topics discussed in this issue of the journal, we chose to present a clinical case based on the ultrasound diagnosis of isolated fetal ascites due to meconium peritoneum. Fetal intestinal volvulus is a rare pathology, but with high rates of morbidity and mortality, the rapid diagnosis and management being the key to increasing survival rates.

The field of gynecology is addressed in the current issue of the journal in a paper dedicated to the main risk factors and treatment of recurrent endometrial polyps, with a special focus on their influence on infertility. Another paper presents the results of a study conducted in a group of 44 patients and focused on the clinical and paraclinical correlations in the management of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. Mammary pathology is highlighted in the presentation of a rare case of giant phyllodes tumor.

Finally, we invite you to go through the Ginecologia.ro journal, and attend on the 8th and 9th of March the presentations of papers held at the Ginecologia.ro and Perinatologia forums.
